Pair of Guido Gambone Ceramic Table Lamps

Condition: Very good vintage condition.
Rare pair of Guido Gambone (1909-1969) ceramic table lamps, circa 1950s Italy. Each lamp is signed on the base with a glazed signature "Gambone / Italy" and the famous donkey mark. Each lamp retains the original paper labels "M-9002" for Marbro. Partial Marbro labels remain within the socket housing. These sculptural stoneware urn form lamp bodies are glazed with geometric / cubist designs in dark plum and green on an off white glazed background. Each lamp has a unique design patterning. The original round wooden bases have been refinished in a dark mahogany stain. Brass stems and sockets have not been polished to retain the patina. Milk glass diffusers. The lamps have been newly rewired for use. Bases measure 18" H to the bottom of the stem. Each lamps takes one standard base light bulb. Sold sans shades. Ceramic bodies bear no signs of repairs or losses. Minor crazing to the glaze as expected from age. Overall the pair shows in fine and attractive vintage condition.
