Rare Alessio Tasca Geometric Layered Ceramic Centerpiece

SOLD

Designer:  Alessio Tasca
Italy - Circa 1970s
Dimensions:  2" H x 18" DIA
Condition:  Very good vintage condition.

A very rare and uncommon Alessio Tasca (b. 1929) geometric layered ceramic centerpiece, Italy circa 1970s.  This modern low centerpiece fruit bowl is comprised of 3 layers of ceramic lattice with a hexagon shape design.  These delicate layers are overlapping to create a unique dimensional design which is surprisingly structurally robust.  The ceramic is glazed in the classic chalk white glaze with raisin brown speckles throughout.  Marked on the bottom with the Tasca logo.  One small chip / loss at the edge of the ceramic (shown in the last photo).  It is extremely difficult to find / notice it in person.  Additional photos upon request.

Alessio Tasca was born in Nove, Vicenza, Italy in 1929. Tasca is a world renowned prize-winning ceramicist whose creations appear in institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome. His creations have been honored at La Biennale in Venice and appeared in the Salone di Milano.
