Triennale Floor Lamp Tri-Color, Chrome and Marble
SOLD
Designer: Angelo Lelli Denis Casey / Koch & Lowy Italy - Circa 1960s Dimensions: Variable 68" H x 48" W x 42" D Condition: Very good vintage condition. Illuminate your space with the iconic 1951 Triennale award-winning three-arm floor lamp by Angelo Lelii, a masterpiece of Italian design, this model was produced in Italy for export by Denis Casey for Casey Fantin, Florence, and imported to the USA by Koch & Lowy, circa 1960s. Model F-1075. Marked “Made in Italy” on the bottom of the marble base. Standing on round 11.75” diameter white round Carrara marble base, the sleek black enameled stem rises to support three chrome-plated, articulating counterweighted arms. These arms, finished with stitched black leather handles, are not just a detail but a statement of luxury, allowing easy adjustment while adding a tactile richness to the piece. Each 33” arm culminates in a spun aluminum cone shade, presented in an understated palette of the original gray, white, and black enamel. These larger-than-average cone shades, measuring 9.5” in height and 8.25” in diameter, are a nod to the lamp's early production models, featuring the sought-after on/off switches on their sides for ease of operation. With the capability to direct light in almost any direction, the lamp offers a symphony of illumination, from direct beams suitable for reading to an indirect glow perfect for creating ambiance. The standard E26 porcelain sockets within each shade promise compatibility and ease of use, allowing for personalized lighting levels with individual switches. Despite its age, this Triennale floor lamp retains a very good vintage condition. The original enamel finish of the cone shades still holds the stories of its past, with the black shade donning a couple of scratches and the white shade showing its history of interaction through wear by the switch and a small, inconspicuous indentation. The marble base, though with a few rough edges, stands as a testament to the endurance and timelessness of the materials chosen by Lelii. The 5.75”black leather handles maintain excellent condition, revealing minimal wear and showcasing the craftsmanship that has preserved its seams impeccably. This piece is more than just a lamp; it is a historical artifact that offers a glimpse into the golden era of Italian design. It stands ready to not only brighten a room but to elevate its entire aesthetic. The opportunity to own such a celebrated design, with its tales of artistry and elegance, is within reach. * Variable dimensions: 68” H x 48” D x 42”D as shown in the main image. |
